There are two primary laser resurfacing modalities: 1) non-ablative laser resurfacing, and 2) ablative laser resurfacing. Non-ablative laser resurfacing, such as the Frax 1550 laser, is a minimal downtime treatment. Ablative laser resurfacing, such as the CO2 laser, is associated with a recovery period following treatment. As such, the Co2 laser is typically used to treat more significant sun damage, scarring, or deeper facial wrinkles than some other facial treatments. If you are unhappy with the condition of your skin, and would like to significantly refresh and repair your skin, the Co2 laser treatment might be right for you.
How does it work?
The C02 laser works by producing micro-thermal healing zones beneath the skin. This stimulates your natural production of collagen cells and helps to significantly improve the appearance of your skin.
